Miss McCarten achieved her National Board of Teaching certification in Dec 2022.  The National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. The positive impact on educators, their students, and schools has been documented in numerous research studies. Miss McCarten worked on this certificate for 2 years.  She believes that music is for all children and that music education should be of the highest quality and promote universal music literacy and lifelong music making. She is thankful to achieve her National Board of Teaching Certificate because it keeps her accountable to reflect, collaborate, and "dig deep" to know her students so that her teaching truly impacts their learning.
